Messiaen Turangalîla-Symphonie
Daring, exhilarating and spectacular – each word encapsulates the multi-layered personality of Paris. In the Parisian spirit of ingenuity, Messiaen’s epic 20th-Century jewel Turangalîla receives its Alberta debut. Featuring the other-worldly sounds of the ondes martenot – this is a spectacular, once-in-a-lifetime event. The evening is balanced by Saint-Saëns’ multi-keyboard classic with dynamic piano duo Anderson & Roe.
This performance of Turangalîla features the world premiere of a CPO-commissioned visual installation by Kurtis Lesick and Craig Fahner of concert partner ACAD.
